Double Cross

Emblem of the Preceptor of the Knight Templar degree and of the same office in the Rectified Scottish Rite.

This [Patriarchal] Cross when in purple enamel, and edged with gold, is the insignia of all officers of the Grand Encampment below the Grand Master.

Shibboleth Templar Monitor by George Cooper Connor (1894).

A similar two barred cross also appears in 27th degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.

Outside Freemasonry there are several varieties to this cross with names such as the patriarchal cross, the Jagiellonian cross and the cross of Lorraine.

Cross on Heart

Dąbrowski has an unidentified “American Masonic Symbols”, see below. There are quite a few symbols on it that are unfamiliar to me, such as this one. It could be a reference to the Holy Heart of Jesus and there is even a possibility for it being a reference to Faith, Hope and Charity, but I don’t know in what rite or degree this symbol is of significance.

Two Serpents on a Cross

Dąbrowski has an unidentified “Masonic Symbols”, see below. It looks somewhat alchemical. Perhaps it is from the Gold- und Rosenkreuzer or some similar group. I don’t know in which degree this image is featured and if there are other systems or degrees with this symbol. The placement on the image below makes it unlikely that it has the same meaning that the caduceus in some lodges has.

Brazen Serpent

Dąbrowski has an unidentified “Symbols of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite”, see below left. Judging the text in the triangle, it is from France. The 25th degree of the AASR is the Knight of the Brazen Serpent and its emblem can be seen below. An image more like the one above can be found on some 25th degree AASR tracing boards.

Would the Cross with Snake be a variation to this symbol?

Templar Cross

The Templar Cross can be found in Freemasonry in a variety of forms in a variety of systems. 30th Degree Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite (and up), 30th degree of Memphis-Misraim, the French Rectified Scottish Rite (‘novice degree’), 8-11th degree of the Swedish Rite, in the Order of the Red Cross (“the insignia of the officers of a Grand Commandery”), to name a few.

Rose Cross

A Pelican with a Rose Cross, a typical image of the 18th degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite (“Knight Rose Croix”). The 18th degree of Memphis-Misraim has the same name and symbolism.
